FreelanceIndependent Consultant

"Every new client means a new contract written almost from scratch. I spend hours on legal admin before I've done a single hour of real work."

FreelanceFreelance Developer

"When an invoice goes unpaid I have to manually track it and awkwardly follow up myself. There's no system that just handles this for me."

CSRenewals Manager

"Renewals, health scores, follow-up tasks — I track all of it in three tools that don't sync with each other. I miss things constantly."

CSCustomer Success Manager (CSM)

"I find out a customer is unhappy when they send a cancellation email. By then it's already too late and I had no warning it was coming."

ProductSenior PM

"I prioritize based on whoever was loudest in the last meeting. I have no way to connect actual user feedback to what we build next."

ProductProduct Manager

"Feature requests come in from everywhere — Slack, email, sales calls, support tickets. I have no central place to capture them so real user needs just disappear."

LegalIn-House Counsel

"I found out a vendor contract expired because they stopped invoicing us. We had no system tracking renewal dates so nobody caught it."

LegalContract Manager

"We send contracts back and forth over email and lose track of versions constantly. Someone always ends up signing the wrong draft."

FinanceFinancial Analyst

"I rebuild the same report every single month from scratch because our systems don't connect. It eats two full days and I hate every minute of it."

FinanceAccountant

"Expense approval is a nightmare. Submitted in one place, approved over email, entered manually into a third system. Three steps that should take one click."

HROnboarding Specialist

"We track onboarding tasks in a spreadsheet. Every few weeks something falls through and the new hire shows up with no laptop or no system access."

HRRecruiter

"I have to open three different tools just to check where one candidate is in the process. Nothing talks to anything else."

How friction research works

LOG/01

You describe the friction

What slows you down, how often, and why existing tools don't solve it. Specific > vague — your precision improves our signal.

LOG/02

We detect patterns

When the same friction surfaces across roles and industries, statistical weight accumulates. Outlier problems get flagged for validation.

LOG/03

Highest-signal problems get built

The friction with the most cross-industry resonance becomes a product brief. Contributors get early access before public launch.

Who contributes

Real friction comes from real work.

⚙️
Engineers & Developers
Deployment friction, code review delays, broken toolchains.
🤝
Sales & Revenue
CRM hell, pipeline visibility gaps, forecasting guesswork.
🧑‍💼
HR & People Ops
Hiring bottlenecks, onboarding chaos, performance admin.
📣
Marketing & Growth
Attribution blindspots, approval loops, fragmented analytics.
💰
Finance & Accounting
Month-end manual work, broken reconciliation, audit prep.
🧑‍💻
Freelancers & Solopreneurs
Client chasing, invoice delays, admin eating billable hours.
Methodology

Why we ask first,
build second.

Most startups validate product hypotheses — we validate problems. There's a fundamental difference. A hypothesis assumes the problem exists. We measure it across thousands of professional contexts before anyone writes code.

This dataset is the unfair advantage. The more professionals who log friction, the more accurate our signal — and the higher the chance what gets built actually solves something real.

PrivacyYour email is never shown publicly. Submissions are anonymized in all public displays.
No salesWe're not selling you anything. There is no product yet. This is research.
Open dataAggregate findings are published publicly so anyone can see what professionals report.
Signal, not noiseProblems under 20 characters are rejected. We want specifics, not venting.
FAQ

Common questions

What happens to my submission?
It enters our cross-industry friction database. We analyze patterns across roles and industries. If your problem clusters with similar reports, it becomes a product research brief.
Is this anonymous?
Your name is optional. Your email is private — only used to notify you if we build something relevant to your friction. It's never shown publicly.
Do I need to be technical?
No. We talk to engineers, salespeople, HR managers, accountants, lawyers, freelancers — anyone who works and has friction. Specificity matters more than technical knowledge.
What's in it for me?
If we build something that solves your friction, you get early access before anyone else. You also help shape what gets built — which is rare for people who aren't founders or investors.
Why not just a survey?
Surveys ask you to rate predefined options. We ask open-ended questions and look for patterns you didn't know were patterns. The methodology is closer to ethnographic research than market research.
